Job Description

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada – Agroforestry Development Centre

 

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) Agroforestry Development Centre (ADC) is located in Indian Head, Saskatchewan and focuses on research and development of sustainable agricultural practices.

 

We are currently looking for several enthusiastic Environmental or Agricultural Internship Students to fill 8-month (May-December) positions.  The positions will involve work on a variety of research projects dealing with agriculture sustainability and environmental benefits.

 

Location

The positions will be located in Indian Head, Saskatchewan home of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s Agroforestry Development Centre. Indian Head is a rural community of 2000 located 45 minutes east of Regina, Saskatchewan.

Qualifications

Ideally, the successful candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • Enrolment in a  biological science, environmental or agricultural internship program or other related internship programs
  • Understanding and/or experience in agriculture
  • Knowledge of agroforestry practices would be considered an asset
  • Experience in soils and/or vegetation sampling would be considered an asset
  • Education or Experience in entomology would be considered an asset
  • Computer literacy in Excel, Access would be considered an asset
  • Willingness to undergo and successfully pass a reliability security clearance
  • Valid Drivers Licence

Additional Information

Remuneration: $12.77 - $20.51 hour depending on year of study and level of experience
