Job Description

The Coordinator, Learning Lab Programming and Logistics Planner will complement the essential organizational and delivery work required to enable attendance of both Aboriginal junior and senior high school students and junior and senior high school young women exploring trades and technologies in high impact learning labs across the province. 

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Administrative and plan arrangements related to projects.
  • Record keeping
  • Design and development and liaison with project partners
  • Attendance at projects
  • Report writing
  • Logistics assistance and organization
  • Contact with students and parents
  • Connecting with key school contacts
  • Program design and development.
  • Collaboration with employers, post-secondary institutions, junior and senior high school and community partners.
  • Transportation and lodging coordination for participating students.
  • Communications and marketing to all parties involved.
  • Assist Operational staff in locations where projects are executed.
  • Some travel is required throughout Edmonton and within Alberta to support projects.

Qualifications

You will have the following attributes:

  • Must be enrolled in third-year of a university program in Education, Business or a similar program.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal youth, life skills coaching and/or career counseling preferred.
  • Knowledge of youth’s language and culture is a definite asset.
  • Good communication, conflict management and mediation skills are required.
  • Must have the ability to build relationships with youth and employers.
  • The ability to work independently within a team environment is required.
  • Must be comfortable with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, databases and other technologies
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required.
  • Candidates must demonstrate an incident-free Criminal Record Check and Child Welfare Check.
