Job Description

The Account Manager, Equipment Finance Group (EFG), is a dynamic professional who thrives on building enduring relationships through their proven direct sales experience, demonstrated acumen for financial and risk analysis, and passion to help people achieve their goals.  Reporting to the AVP & Manager, EFG, career success and growth within the Account Manager role requires:

  • A highly motivated team player who values the attributes of integrity, respect, accountability, common-sense and caring;

  • Exceptional relationship management skills to grow and manage a profitable portfolio of business within specialized equipment financing and leasing markets;

  • Direct development of both existing and new client relationships through targeted prospecting and sales programs within designated territories;

  • Strong negotiation skills to ensure loan pricing and credit structures are within CWB’s thresholds for both profitability and risk;

  • Desire to identify, direct and/or receive appropriate business referrals among other specialist groups within CWB (e.g. commercial and personal banking) to deepen client relationships and grow/diversify earnings for CWB Group;  

  • Ability to innovate, adapt and inspire positive change within the dynamics of a growth-focused Schedule 1 bank that aspires to be crucial to our clients’ futures and an industry-leader within  chosen areas of expertise;  

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Responsibilities:

  • Create and execute a personal business plan focused on developing new and existing client relationships that support CWB’s objectives for profitable business growth and increased products per client.
  • Utilize strong risk assessment skills to analyze, prepare, review and recommend loan structures to meet client needs within CWB’s credit risk appetite.
  • Develop strong product knowledge and maintain collaborative team relationships to identify and execute on desired cross-partnering and referral opportunities across CWB Group.

  • Proactively identify and manage risks to appropriately price loans and contain loss experience within acceptable levels based on CWB’s established lending practices, policies and procedures. 

  • Maintain strong client relationships and perform regular reviews to proactively identify and mitigate potential impacts of negative performance trends and/or high risk accounts.

  • Review accounts/services on an ongoing basis to ensure adequate business returns in consideration of risk, complexity and administration requirements.

  • Prepare and monitor monthly and quarterly performance reports as required.

  • Work effectively and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment with concerted focus on positivity, professionalism and productivity.

Qualifications

Education:                                                                                                                        

  • Bachelors Degree in business or related discipline
  • Related sales and/or credit experience.

 

Other Experience:

  • Minimum four (4) years financial services experience within functions of sales, risk management, banking and/or business lending
  • Background and knowledge in equipment financing and leasing  an asset
  • Background and knowledge in commercial banking  an asset
  • General knowledge of collateral security and leasing documentation requirements.
  • Strong computer and skills
